MAORI LANGUAGE WEEK

This week is Maori Language Week. In the Awesome Avengers we are celebrating by learning some Maori language. We started off by doing a brainstorm of all the Maori language we already know. We thought we didn't know much but once we started we found we knew HEAPS! * we could say the numbers up to 10 very easily. Once Miss J showed us how to say the teen numbers we got up to 20. * we knew 9 colours * we knew heaps about Matariki * we only knew a few body parts, Miss J says we'll learn some more this week * titiro mai, haere mai, pukana, titiro ano, kei te pai ahau, kia ora and ka pai were all words we were confident in saying. Watch this space for more words we learn, and activities we complete this week :-) From the Awesome Avengers!

    WOW... that's super Awesome Avengers! I can't wait to get back to hear all about te wiki o Te Reo Maori... it sounded like it was tu meke!
